Do You Believe?

May 31, 2006

Jesus said in Mark 9:23 that all things are possible to him that believeth. Your belief system reaches out to every condition and circumstance of this life. The writer of Proverbs said, As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrew 11:1) When you are hoping for something it only exists in your mind – it is unseen. The realm of the unseen is where all possibilities and probabilities exist, and you can speak those things you hope for into this physical world where you live. It all begins with what you believe. Your belief system will provide seed for sowing. Your mind is a garden where good things can grow or where weeds come up. You are the gardener of your soul; what is your garden producing?

Jesus said that all things are possible to him who believes. The capacity to believe is in your DNA, and what you believe will determine your destiny. You believe that you can, and you can or you believe that you can’t, and you can’t.

One evening while sitting at the table eating dinner with some friends, I noted that the face of one man was etched with pain. I looked at him; touching his arm I asked if he knew that he had within himself the power that raised Jesus from the dead? He looked astonished, and wondered aloud where I could have gotten such an idea. (Read Paul’s prayer for the church in Ephesians 1.)

Our conversation turned to the power of our thoughts, and I remarked that Jesus said if you believe in your heart and speak to the mountain, the mountain will move. He made the standard comment: well I guess that I don’t have enough faith.

Jesus said that if your faith is as small as a mustard seed that you can have whatsoever you say, even the mountain will have to obey you and be moved into the sea. You don’t have to try to get faith. You have been given the faith of the Son of God. (Gal. 2:20) Do you believe?

Christian believers will always say they believe in God, but do they have faith in God? What do you believe about God, about others and about yourself? Do you believe the integrity of the Word of God? Your natural mind resists the teachings of Jesus and will try to talk you out of believing. But, you have the power of choice.

Your present circumstances have been created by your choices and your choices were controlled by those hidden thoughts that govern the soul. Jesus said that those things which you say shall come to pass. Your words are a product of what you believe. If you believe that nothing good ever happens to you, you draw to yourself nothing good. If you believe that God is able to make all favor and every earthy blessing come to you in abundance, you will speak words that draw the goodness of God to yourself and your circumstances. What do your circumstances reveal about your belief system?

There is an illustration in the New Testament that moved a woman who was ill to seek out Jesus. She had spent all that she had on doctors and only grew worse, but she had heard something that she chose to believe. She believed that if she could touch the hem of Jesus’ garment she would be healed. Had she not believed this at the core of her being she would never have risked being stoned to death. Her belief controlled what she said and her actions. This woman, who was considered unclean, ventured out and worked her way through the crowd that pressed against Jesus, acting on what she had chosen to believe.

Jesus said that her faith made her whole. Not only was she healed physically, but she was made emotionally whole after suffering for twelve years with a disease that isolated her from her husband and children. Would you risk ridicule and public shame to be healed? She did. Why? Because she believed! (Read Mark 5:25-34.)

When you renew your mind to the Word of God, believe in your heart, and speak to the mountain in your life to be removed the Holy Spirit goes into action to bring about that which seemed impossible. All things are possible if you believe, and those things which you say shall come to pass. Choose your belief system according to the word of God, and take control of your thoughts. Have faith in God!

Dear Global Company of Intercessor,
Thank you for your prayers as we follow God’s plan for the mobilization of 100,000 intercessors. Your prayers and financial gifts are preparing the way for the end-time gathering of souls. You are planting in good ground and will reap manifold rewards.

Hopefully you have visited our new website, and seen our call to prayer. God has instructed me to mobilize 100,000 intercessors who will pray for the rescue of our children and youth. The world is seeking to pull them away from God, but our prayers of intercession will prepare the way for these young people to fulfill their destinies. In the name of Jesus we must bind their feet to paths of righteousness, and build a shield of protection in the spirit for their future and the future of the church.

I encourage you to focus on praying for the children of the countries we are targeting this month. Also, pray that the Father will move on the hearts of grandparents, parents, extended family members and friends to pray with us that the will of God might be done in earth as it is in heaven. Our assignment is to take dominion, withstand the enemy’s onslaughts standing firm in the faith.

The following prayer assignments are from the book, Operation World 21st Century Edition by Patrick Johnstone and Jason Mandryk. The countries we are praying for this month are in crisis. Go to and click on Pray Today for more information. As a daily reminder you can make “Pray Today” your home page.

Prayer Assignments for June 1-30, 2005
1-16: India (Asia) has more (and larger) people groups with no Christians, churches or workers than any other part of the world. Pray that the Church world-wide might rise to complete this task.

17-26: Indonesia (Asia) — pray for the 65+ million nominal and syncretistic Muslins, that their eyes may be opened to the truth in Jesus, and come to Him. Pray that the people will call upon the name of the Lord and be saved during this time of upheaval and displacement. So many had died in the recent earthquakes; pray that the children who have lost parents will not be exploited, but protected.

27-29: Iran (Asia) — Iranians battle daily to survive in economic recession, political tyranny and, above all, the demonic system underlying it all. Pray that these shackles may be shattered and many Iranians find true liberty in believing in the Risen Lord Jesus. Pray that this land may open up again for the proclamation of the gospel. Pray that those in leadership who oppose righteousness will be removed, and God-fearing leaders will be in positions of leadership.

30-July 10 Iraq (Asia) — pray for the protection of the Iraqi leaders who support democracy and the military troops who are stationed here to help promote democracy. Pray that those who oppose the will of God will be removed from positions of power, and those who are God-fearing will hold these positions. Pray that the plots of the enemies of democracy will be exposed.

It is my prayer that the God of peace Himself will sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). (1 Thessalonians 5:23 AMP)

“I just want to express to you, Germaine, that your ministry has been of great comfort and inspiration to me and is helping to strengthen my faith daily. I have spent many years trying to come back into right standing with my Father and every time I am struggling with my faith and His purposes for my life, I turn to Prayers That Avail Much, or your website, and without fail the prayers that I find there ease my hurting or confusion and I am brought back into my Father”s loving embrace. Thank you for all you and your partners do to remain faithful to our Father and to help us to do so as well.”

“I just want to thank all those who came to Grace United Methodist Church on April 8th and 9th. I have been truly blessed by Germaine, David, Lisa, and Lane. It’s not everyday that you meet people who truly bless you, who are warm, friendly, compassionate, and are down to earth. Lisa, I just want to say that I love your CD, I trust in you. It is the best gift given to me. David, your tape on “Strongholds to God’s Love”, blessed me indeed. I never realized that lacking nurturance in one’s life, was a stronghold, or a Spiritual block to healing. Needless to say, I cried like a baby listening to your testimony, it was powerful… Reading Henry Wright’s book, A more excellent way, has been very helpful, and I have started a daily journal of my blocks, the family curses, or family tree diseases…. I have let go and I am letting my Father, nurture me and restore me to full health.”

“I had posted a prayer for my grandson who had gotten suspended from school for 10 days. There were only 14 days left and a possibility that being out that long could have made him failed. I specified two specific things that I was asking the Lord to do. One was for his mother to talk with the school regarding his suspension; and secondly for God to turn the suspension around; and that”s exactly what he did. My grandson”s mother rose to the occasion to go to the school about the matter and the Lord turned his suspenion to only three days instead of ten days.”

Employment isn’t just about earning a salary. First of all you are a representative of God in the workplace. One man who was out of work wanted our ministry to pray that he would not have to start his new business at the bottom, but would have only top-money-making accounts. You have to be willing to work at the small things and earn the respect, favor and trust of employers and/or clients. Let your eye be single, and work with all your heart as you would for Christ [Himself]. Doors of opportunity will open, and promotion will come as you keep the proper attitude of service. Be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides], and do your job to the best of your ability.

Father, I come before You asking You to send forth Your ministering spirits to open doors of employment for me. I am strong and will not give up, for my work will be rewarded. As a son/daughter of God, I purpose to walk uprightly, commanding the respect of the outside world, being self-supporting, dependent on nobody and having need of nothing for You, Father, supply to the fullest my every need. Thank You for opening doors of employment in the name of Jesus. Amen
