Prayer Assignments for January 1 – February 3, 2011

December 31, 2010

We are entering another year with continued expectation of a Move of God upon the nations of the earth. Our prayers prayed each day enter the presence of the Lord and are heard before the throne of God. It does not matter what we are facing or what the headlines declare we choose to believe the report of the Lord. Join us for another year of praying around the world and asking for revival to hit the smallest hamlet, the largest city or the most remote village on the face of the earth.

Believe with us that someone somewhere will hear the gospel for the first time and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Believe with us that healings, miracles, signs and wonders will flood the churches and hunger will increase for a real relationship with the Lord. Believe with us this year that our Pastors, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and other spiritual leaders will be renewed in the power of the Holy Spirit that will in turn ignite followers of Jesus to join in this giant harvest of souls! Believe with us that Jerusalem will be blessed this year as we pray for its peace.

Psalm 19

1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.  2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.  4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,  5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. 6His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. 7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.  8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.  9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.  10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.  11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.  12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Amen.

Happy and Blessed New Year!

Daily Prayer for January 1

Morning Prayer
Happy New Year!
Today is a day of new beginnings. Were you disappointed, hurt, and dismayed in 2008? Take charge of your thoughts and do not allow yourself to be afraid nor dismayed because God is with you. He will uphold you with His victorious right hand. (Isa. 41:10) Choose to hope in God and wait expectantly for Him. Praise Him, He is your Help. Regardless of past events choose to believe God, and remind yourself that God’s plans for you are for good and not for evil. He gives you a future and a hope. (Jer. 29:11) Face the New Year with hope, expectancy and the assurance that God is faithful. He cares for you and He will not fail one word of His promise. Let go of the hurts, envy and jealousy, quit blaming others for where you are today, and remember that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. No longer allow the past to dictate your decisions. Commit your way to the Lord and make plans for the New Year—counting on God to direct you.

Heavenly Father, I choose to let go of the past and receive the new transformation that you are working in me according to Your Word. You are upholding me with Your victorious right hand, and I make it my primary goal to know You better and more intimately. I ask You to fill me with Your mighty, glorious strength so that I can keep going no matter what happens—always full of the joy of the Lord. This year I will love, laugh and spread the joy that You have set before me in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Trusting in the Lord

The ladies and I pulled our chairs together forming a circle. We read First Kings 18:37-39 and Acts 3:1-6. Then talked about how to apply these Scriptures to our lives. A demonstration of God’s power caused the people to cry: the Lord, He is God! In Acts when Peter spoke to the crippled man there was another demonstration of divine power. God wants us to trust Him to demonstrate His power through us so that our loved ones will come to know Him. It was then one lovely young woman spoke: I have a trust issue and become fearful when I think that God wants me to do something. We could identify with her and asked God to help us grow in grace that we might learn to trust Him more.

To the glory of the Father I welcome you, Holy Spirit. I’m so grateful that You are my Helper as I prepare for the New Year. I humble myself before You asking for Divine Guidance. In Jesus’ name I commit myself anew to Your plans and purposes, that I might run the full race completing the destiny to which You have called me. I trust in You, Lord, I put my full confidence in You and Your word, and delight myself in You. Father-God, be glorified in my life throughout the coming year as never before, in Jesus name. Amen.

Daily Prayer for December 29

December 28, 2010

It was many years ago when I was visiting a good friend of mine. Her mother invited me to stay for supper (we didn’t call it dinner in those days). She prepared supper, my friend and I set the table and waited for her father who was later than usual. They were a happy family who loved the Lord, were active in their church. Little did we know that this father and husband, who had been diligent to provide for his family, was headed home with a heavy heart. How could he tell them that he had been fired? It was so humiliating and unfair. He had an excellent work record but now, less than 5 years away from retirement, he was told that he was no longer needed. He had seen this happen to others, but because he was in corporate he felt that he had job security. This family’s retirement had been snatched away; their dreams of moving out of the city shattered, but I’ll never forget his declaration of faith. With tears in his eyes, he maintained his faith in God and assured his family that their Heavenly Father would provide. He added action to his faith: the next Monday he was busy looking for a job, and God did provide.

Father, we pray for those in our nation who have lost their jobs. You promised, and we believe that You supply to the full their every need. You know their work records and what they are doing. We ask You to set before them doors of employment that no one is able to shut. We pray that they will prize Wisdom and acknowledge that You are the One who gives power to get wealth. In everything they do give them the grace to put You first, and You will direct them and crown their efforts with success. Cause them to increase in Wisdom and in Favor with You, Father, and with man, in the name of Jesus. Amen. (Employment, Prayers That Avail Much Commemorative Edition)

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for pouring Your Spirit upon our family from on high. Our wilderness has become a fruitful field, and we value our fruitful field as a forest. Justice dwells in our wilderness, and righteousness [religious and moral rectitude in every area and relation] abides in our fruitful field. The effect of righteousness is peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness, quietness and confident trust forever. Thank You for my family in the name of Jesus. Amen. NOTE: If you do not have children I encourage you to pray for nieces, nephews and the children of your neighborhood.

Father, I ask Youto create in our children the desire to attend to Your words. Give them willing and obedient hearts that they may consent and submit to Your sayings and walk in Your ways. Cause their eyes to look straight ahead with purpose for the future. May the tongues of our children be as the pens of ready writers, writing mercy and kindness upon the tablet of their hearts. May they speak the truth in love, and may their hands do the works of the Father. In the name of Jesus, we bind their feet to the pathways You have foreordained for them. Hearing the Voice of God

In the name of Jesus, I hear the voice of the Good Shepherd. I purpose to listen to my Father’s voice, and the voice of a stranger I will not follow. I roll my works upon You Lord, commit and trust them wholly to You. You will cause my thoughts to become agreeable to Your will, and so shall my plans be established and succeed. Thank You for Your love, in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Christmas Day Prayer

Father, we come to celebrate the Gift that You sent to us; the birth of Jesus, Emanuel, God with us. We pray that future generations will remember the sacred purpose of this celebration, and follow in our footsteps as we follow You. Jesus, we acknowledge that You are the Word that became flesh and lived among us. You are full of grace and truth, and from You we receive one gift after another. I give You all that I have—I give You myself – spirit, soul and body, and pray that future generations will walk in truth. Amen.

December 23, 2010

Heavenly Father, thank You for this beautiful Christmas Eve. Most of all I thank You for giving us Your Son, Jesus. Jesus, thank You for bearing our sins on the cross so that we can live unto righteousness, and by Your stripes we were healed. We bless You, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Tonight we will go to bed with great expectations looking forward to celebrating with family and friends the birth of our Lord and Savior. Thank You for forgiving our sins and casting them into the depths of the sea, in the name of Jesus. Amen. (Prayers That Avail Much First Blessings for Your Child)
