Looking Beyond Circumstances

Jesus is my Lord, and I will not lose heart. Even though my outward man is perishing, yet my inward man is being renewed day by day. For this light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while I look at the things, which are not seen. Thank You for the eternal things that will never pass away in the name of Jesus. Amen

Affirmation of Transformation

Holy Spirit, You are our Liberator! Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit are with me! Amen.

Pursue Love

Father, I eagerly pursue and seek to acquire love [make it my aim, my great quest]. Also, I earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts). When I was a child, I talked like a child and I thought like a child. Now that I have become a man/woman, I am done with childish ways and put them aside. My desire is to walk in love—true affection for God and man, growing out of God’s love for me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Escape from Temptation

I thank You Father, that no temptation has overtaken me except such as is common to man. You are faithful, and will not allow me to be tempted beyond that I am able, but with the temptation You will also make the way of escape, that I may be able to bear (endure) it. I flee from idolatry and sexual immorality, and will not sin against my own body. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in me, whom I have received from God, and I am not my own. I was bought at a price; therefore I will glorify God in my body and in my spirit, which are God’s. Amen

A Shining Light

Father, Your Word affirms that Jesus Christ is building me up into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to You. I belong to a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a peculiar people; that I should show forth Your praises. You called me out of darkness into Your marvelous light. I pray that I may be blameless and harmless, a daughter/son of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom I shine as a light in the world. I desire to hold forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain. Amen.

Prayer for Friends

I thank my God always for my friends — for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you might be enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will confirm you to the end that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Live In Peace

The Holy Spirit began teaching me how to pursue and live in peace at home. This is where He taught me to lay aside my childish defenses, and listen for Him to teach and train me to walk in love. On the day this Pentecostal girl learned that God loved me unconditionally, I craved to know Him! My theme song was, “O, I want to see Him, look upon His face.” But the dogmatic, judgmental attitude that I had learned from early childhood continued causing a great divide between my husband and me. My intention was to share the Love of God with him and our children, but he challenged every statement I made. I searched out scriptures that would help me convince him to come into agreement with me. Slowly I became puffed up with knowledge! The Holy Spirit got my attention when my husband said, “You are as dogmatic today as you have ever been!” Ouch! Going to my prayer closet I asked the Holy Spirit to transform me and teach me to walk in love and live in peace.

Today, I bless my husband and others who I feel are treating me unfairly because of my beliefs. Open my eyes and let me see them as You see them, my Father. I purpose to speak blessings over them and listen when they speak. I pray Your love in me will overcome a judgmental, dogmatic attitude, and that I will remember relationships are more important than being “right.” I rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep…I associate with the humble…If it is possible, as much as depends on me, I purpose to live at peace with all men, beginning here in our home. With Your help, I will strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord. I submit to the peace of God that passes all understanding, and purpose that peace will be my umpire in my conversations. Holy Spirit, thank You for reminding me that a soft answer turns away wrath. I purpose to overcome evil with good in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The Holy Spirit has Come

Early morning I awaken before the world outside my window is reshaped. I cherish my private time with the Holy Spirit as I wait for the dawning of a new day. Sometimes, in the midst of my meditation He walks me back to a buried memory…a memory that did not die. Every time He heals the memory, and gives me the grace to forgive and renew my mind. The toxic thought pattern usually formed in childhood is replaced with Truth that makes me free. God created us triune beings. We are 1) spirit, which is made brand new at the time of salvation 2) soul, which has to be renewed day by day 3) body, which is the seat of the five senses. We are spirit and soul living in a body!

LORD Jesus, before You ascended to the Father You promised that You would send someone just like You who would remain with me forever! I thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to be my Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby). All my life I searched for truth, and You did more than I could have ever asked. This same Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, Whom I know, and He will teach me all Truth and remind me of all things that You have said. *”How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be how marvelous, how wonderful is my Savior’s love for me!” All glory to the Father, all glory to the Son, all glory to the Spirit—the great Three-in-One! I worship You in spirit and in truth!

A Living Sacrifice

Today, I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to You, my Father-God. I will not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of my mind, that I may prove Your good, acceptable and perfect will for me. With Jesus’ help I will continually offer my sacrifice of praise to You by telling others of the glory of Your name. I’ll not forget to do good and to share what I have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to You, my Father. Amen.

Confession of Salvation

I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead—I am saved. For with my heart I believe unto righteousness, and with my mouth confession is made unto salvation. Father, I thank You for redeeming me from the law of sin and death. I walk after the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, and I am no longer under condemnation. I have passed from death to life! Amen!
